Deep space: Veil nebula (NGC 6960) in Constellation Swan
"Witch's Broom" or Veil Nebula (NGC 6960) about 1400 light-years away from Earth, is a part of Cygnus Loop - a large, relatively poor supernova remnant, located in the constellation Cygnus. Supernova explosion happened about 10 000 years ago. Glowing gas formed a three nebulae, one of them is on the picture (Veil aka Witch's Broom aka NGC 6960), with a part of the nebula known as "Pickering's Triangle" (to the left). Optics used: newton telescope 600mm and modified DSLR camera. Total exposure time: 3 hours 15 minutes.
